At a minimum, educational leaders need a foundation in areas of management that enable them to understand and present data, to use technology for the all aspects of the organization, and to understand and apply basic concepts from economics and finance. To varying degrees, educational leaders may rely on experts in these areas, but each leader should have a fundamental understanding of and capacity to apply elements of management science in their work and organizations.
